题记

没有一场毕业典礼，如这般让我记忆深重，心有感动。

No other graduation ceremony has aroused such deep memories and touched my heart so profoundly.

 

6月12日，我校美高部的2019届毕业生典礼在皇冠滴水湖假日酒店如期举行。整个流程庄重而顺畅。整个流程一共分为六个环节：中方校长发言——VIA美方校长发言——毕业生代表发言——家长代表发言——颁发奖状——颁发毕业证书。

On the 12th of June, 2019, the graduation ceremony of the grade 12 students in the American High School Department was held as scheduled at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Lingang New City. The whole process was solemn and proceeded smoothly. The ceremony was divided into six parts: the school Principal's speech, The principal of the VIA (American Department) ’s speech, the graduate representative’s speech, the parent’s speech, the presentation of the special awards and lastly, the presentation of the diplomas to the graduates.

 

我校李莉校长寄语让人心生浩然之气，颇有指点江山，激扬文字气势，让人振奋人心：天高任鸟飞，海阔凭鱼跃。生如夏花，必将绚烂!思如秋叶，终将静美!在未来的人生路上，希望同学们把一切艰难困苦当作攀登人生绝顶高峰的铺路石!愿同学们胸怀世界，友爱感恩。上师大附二外永远是你们的家，欢迎你常回家看看!

Our school's Principal, Ms.Li Li, had a message of inspiration. She encouraged the students to possess a noble spirit as they follow life’s winding river. She said: “The sky is high enough for the birds to fly and the sea is wide enough for the fish to leap. Life, like summer flowers, must be spectacular! Thought, like autumn leaves, must be quiet and beautiful! On the road of life in the future, please regard all difficulties and hardships as the stepping stones to climb to the peak of life and success! Life is just a few decades…I encourage students to value life, stand tall, embrace the world and show love and gratitude. The Second Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University will always be your home. You are welcome to come home often.”

VIA美方校长James P. Cross 寄语则从学习本身入手，道出学习层次的境界：授人以鱼不如授人以渔，希望大家注重对学习能力的培养，去掌握更多的知识。

The message from the American High School Department Principal, VIA, Mr. James Cross, used Learning as a starting point, and expressed the realm of learning: “It is better to teach a person to fish so they may have food for a lifetime than to give a man a fish to feed him for a day. Our hope is that everyone will continue to cultivate a love of learning and thus master more knowledge in future days.”

毕业生代表朱绎霖深情感言：毕业之际，感谢也感恩每一个在我成长路上给予我帮助和鼓励的亲朋好友、师长和同学。纸短情长，爱你们三千遍。我们将做好准备，牢牢的将未来握在自己手里，让爱我们的你从不失望。

Rita Zhu, the graduate representative, expressed her deep feelings on this momentous occasion: “I would like to express my gratitude to every family member, teacher and classmate who helped and encouraged me on my path of growth. There is no paper that is long enough to write on to express how much we love you. We are ready to firmly hold the future in our own hands and let our love never cause you to be disappointed in us.”

家长代表吕芳的寄语更像是一场深情告白：

The message from parent representative, Ms.Lv Fang, was more like an affectionate confession:

孩子，师生情/同学情是最真挚最纯粹的一段感情。希望你们不要中断彼此的联络，不要在动荡的世界中丢失了彼此，忘却了这段友谊。希望你们能依然相亲相爱，彼此祝福彼此帮助。

孩子，作为父母的我们面对未来也不确定我们的建议是否与时俱进，是否一定是对的。但是，我们决定和你们一起成长、一起拥抱未来。陪伴是最长情的告白，无论你们身处世界哪个角落，父母的心永远跟你们在一起。

留学生涯开始后也请允许我们与你们一起分享喜怒哀乐。我们一定会体谅你们终会因为学业繁忙到忘记和父母沟通，也许沟通的方式也会仅仅是我问你答，但如果有时间请一定多多打或视频我们，对于你们喜欢的简单的文字和表情外，我们更希望听到你们的声音和看到你们的脸。因为我们会非常非常想念你们 牵挂你们…

“The love of children, the affection of teachers for students and students for their classmates, is the most sincere and purest of feelings. I hope you do not break contact with each other, do not lose each other in the turbulent world or forget these friendships. I hope you will continue to love each other, bless each other and help each other.”

“Children, as parents, we also face the future and we are not always sure whether our advice is up to date or whether it is necessarily right. But we are determined to grow and embrace the future with you. Companionship is the longest confession of love. No matter where you are in the world, your parents' hearts will always be with you.”

“Whilst studying abroad, please allow us to share your happiness and sorrow with you. We accept that you will eventually forget to communicate with your parents because of your busy studies. Maybe our way of communicating with you will just be to ask you questions. But if you have time, please call or video us more often. Because we will long for you and miss you so much...”

说至此处，家长代表吕芳动容哭泣，也感动了在场的其他师生和家长。正是因为爱孩子(学生)，所以寄愿他们飞得更高、更远。但也因为爱——孩子(学生)，舍不得分别。

Having thus spoken, Ms. Fang had tears in her eyes and moved the other parents, teachers and students. “It is because I love the students, that I wish them to fly higher and farther. But, because of our love for you all, we are also reluctant to part….”
