Pepe Reza

我叫pepe，我的中文名叫包天杰，来自墨西哥。在大学期间，我对语言学习产生了热情，学习了多种语言。这种学习外语的热情促使我想教授英语，这样我就可以帮助别人培养这种热情。毕业后一直在墨西哥任教，目前已经有10年的教学经验。三年前我来到了中国，现在上海北美学校教授社会科学和英语ESL,我的爱好非常广泛，喜欢旅行，画画和跳舞。我对所做的每一件事都很投入和热情，对FLIP、PBL等教学模式非常了解，我非常喜欢运用图形来增强理解能力以及实际生活中的问题让同学们思考和答辩。

How to learn English well?Do you have any better Suggestions?

如何学好英语，您有什么更好的建议吗?

Oh, it’s a big one. I can give you some small tips. We should try to use the language as much as we can. Many students are too shy to speak English outside of the class. What I mean is that they should realize that we need to use language as much as we can and that includes witheach other. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. We all have made mistakes.

译文：哦，这是一个大问题，不过我可以给你们一些小建议。日常生活中，我们要尽可能多地运用这门语言。很多学生很害羞，不敢在课堂之外说英语。但是我觉得她们要意识到互相之间该用英语。你不只是记忆。不要害怕犯错，我们都会犯错，这没什么大不了。

How do you usually prepare for your course before class?您一般课前是怎么准备你要上的课程的呢?

I spent a lot of time preparing.If you want to make a class very good, I think the things you do outside of the class are really helpful.I usually do too much preparation and find too much material. What is also really important is that a good educator knows how to get the class active.Don’t be dogmatic.Some professors like doing that.I don’t think that’s a good way to teach students.We need to adapt and do something to change situation,you should always adapt to student’s needs. I want to make things interesting.

我通常会花很多时间来准备，如果你想让课堂变的有趣，你在课外做的很多准备都是非常有帮助的。我会找很多材料去准备课堂。其中有一个很重要的点，那就是一个好的老师一定要让课堂活跃起来，而不要是教条的那种形式，我非常讨厌死板的教学，我会根据学生的需求和课堂情况不断改变，有趣的课堂才能提高专注度。

What do you miss most when you leave China in the future? What are your favorite memories from China?

当你离开中国的时候，你最怀念什么?对中国印象最深的是什么?

I will miss the most people that I met and the opportunity to learn something new every day. There are so many Chinese characters that I don’t know (and I probably never will), so I feel that this country offers an ample of instances from which I can learn and grow. In addition to people and learning opportunities, I will miss authentic Chinese food, traditional Chinese medicine, and magnificent nature.

我会怀念我遇到的许多人以及每天学习新东西的机会。我不知道的汉字太多了(我可能永远也不会知道)，所以我觉得这个国家给了我很多学习和成长的机会。除了人和学习的机会，我还会怀念正宗的中国食物、中药和壮丽的大自然。
