在这里学什么？ Do you want to work with athletes to improve their sporting potential? Could you provide specialist support and guidance aligned to their individual needs and aspirations? Solent’s Sport Performance Coaching degree will help you to better understand the principles of sport science. This CIMSPA endorsed course will help you develop the highly practical skills required for a career coaching athletes from a range of sports.You’ll study relevant and applied scientific theory – physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, including integrated sports science topics, coaching principles, skills development, strength and conditioning, and performance and technique analysis - building essential underpinning knowledge for a career in coaching. This is combined with practical training and professional placement opportunities, giving you the chance to put theory into practice.The course has been designed to offer progressive coaching opportunities as ability, knowledge and confidence develops. This includes coaching conducted in the safety of the class, delivering coaching sessions to talented school-age children from around the region, and placements that you’ll be able to organise yourself working with athletes, sports and organisations that interest you. In addition, multiple work experience opportunities are available, for example with Solent’s High-Performance Academy or with local sports clubs and athletes.To further boost employability, this course has been designed to meet industry requirements, demonstrated by attaining endorsement from CIMPSA for the professional standards of ‘Coach’ and for ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’. You’ll also have opportunities to gain nationally recognised coaching qualifications throughout your time studying at Solent at discounted rates. Highly applied modules, combining scientific theory and coaching skills to enhance athletic performance.**What does this course lead to?**Previous graduates have gained sports coaching employment, including rugby coach, swimming coach, sailing coach, gymnastics coach and community football coach. Other more specialist graduate destinations include performance analyst and strength and conditioning coach.**Who is this course for?**Solent’s sport performance coaching course is ideal for sports enthusiasts who see their future working with athletes of all abilities, helping them to reach their sporting potential. Applicants do not require any prior coaching experience but should have an interest in the sciences, and a desire to coach athletes to enhance performance for competition rather than at participation or grassroots level.
