专业概况

The Master of Education in Moderate Disabilities program at Worcester State University helps you become a highly trained educator with the specialized knowledge and skills to teach students with moderate disabilities in all grades levels.

Our convenient, part-time program is designed for working adults with an initial teacher license in moderate disabilities. If you completed WSU’s initial teacher licensure program in moderate disabilities, you can easily transfer 12 of those credits to this master’s program.

You’ll work closely with your faculty advisor to identify your unique academic and career goals and develop a program of study to achieve them. You’ll also conduct in-depth research on a topic in moderate disabilities that interests you—and that applies to your classroom practice. Your studies culminate in a comprehensive thesis project, for which you’ll compile an electronic portfolio of work that not only demonstrates your mastery of all program competencies, but also showcases your professional development.

Graduates of our program have found great success as special education teachers in public and private schools across the state. In fact, a master’s degree in moderate disabilities from WSU may be used toward professional teacher licensure in Massachusetts.
