专业概况

在这里学什么？

In our society, it's hard not to communicate. We raise our eyebrows to show surprise and wave to say 'hello.' We ask questions before class, discuss the newest movie with friends after school and persuade our parents to extend tonight’s curfew. We post daily blogs and chat online, read newspapers and magazines, watch TV and listen to the radio. Why is information so important to our lives — and why does it influence our thoughts and behaviors? Find the answer through communication, the study of how messages are used to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels and media.

Program Details

With a diverse curriculum, we provide an excellent education in the theory, history, ethics and practice of communication. This prepares them for careers and leadership in a wide variety of professions.

Program Outcomes

If your interests and career goals don't quite fit into one of the existing communication concentrations, you can work with your faculty adviser to create an individualized course of study. This tailored program will include a solid foundation in the field of communication and help you prepare for a career where you can be as specialized or flexible as you would like to be.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 70 on the Internet-based (iB) test is required for full admission. Please note that many majors require a minimum score of 80. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): A minimum score of 50 is required for full admission. Please note that many majors require a minimum score of 60.
