Our state-of-the-art facilities for practical work and our innovative teaching and assessment methods will ensure that you have a fantastic student experience. By choosing to study Biochemistry, you’ll be exploring life at the molecular level and investigating the most exciting areas of contemporary life science and medical research. Whether you study Single Honours or Combined Honours, the Biochemistry courses place particular emphasis on human and mammalian biochemistry, especially relating to health anddisease. This might include unravelling the secrets of the human genome or exploring the targeted molecular therapies of the future.When you graduate, the broad and detailed understanding of biochemistry you’ll have developed at Keele will open up a world of appealing career options. You could choose to work in a directly related field, perhaps as a clinical biochemist, medical bioscientist, forensic scientist, research scientist, toxicologist or science teacher. Or you could branch out a little further, and become a health and safety inspector, training standards officer, science writer or technical author. The applied nature of the programme will equip you with a range of transferable employability skills for careers in the Biosciences as well as in other graduate careers where numeracy and an objective scientific approach to problem solving are valued.

ABB-BBC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 80% overall plus Gaokao with 75%; BCC-CCC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 75% overall plus Gaokao with 70%; Applicants to courses with a subject specific requirement will be considered on an individual basis. OR an appropriate pre-university/ foundation year programme. IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each subtest.
