This is your opportunity to expose yourself to an intensive research environment. You will develop expertise in research and learn the concepts, methods and skills required to apply knowledge with creativity and initiative to new situations. The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is awarded on the basis of independent supervised study that produces a substantial piece of research as judged by independent experts of international standing.

The Department of Tourism, Sport and Hotel Management offers internationally recognised degrees in Property and Real Estate, Event Management, Sports Management, and International Hotel and Tourism Management. We are proud to have our Hospitality and Leisure Management subjects rank 1st among Australian universities in the 2020 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Further, our Hospitality and Tourism Management subjects ranked 2nd globally in the 2019 ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects which evaluates over 4,000 universities worldwide.

Our research focuses on understanding event, hotel, sport and tourism management, and real estate and property development - and the role these industries play in our lives. Through our research, the Department aims to contribute to sustainability, engender corporate social responsibility, influence social and government policies, and promote best practice in our field.

为来自中国的学生设计 For standard entry into most master degrees, you must hold a bachelor degree or higher (or equivalent) from a recognized university. You must meet minimum Grade Point Average entry requirements. IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or TOEFL: a minimum score of 575 or Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) or Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50 or ISLPR: no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR.
