专业概况

Develop a broad knowledge of life processes at a molecular level, and skills that can lead to a range of careers in the molecular biosciences and beyond.

Combine your interests in biology and chemistry to study life at the molecular level. Our course will give you the knowledge and skills to understand and solve current and future biological challenges.

You will graduate with a solid foundation for further study or graduate roles where a broader knowledge of molecular biosciences is needed. The academic and key skills you'll develop mean you will also be prepared for a wide range of alternative careers.

The Master of Biochemistry (MBiochem) provides you with the same core skills and knowledge as the BSc but with a greater exposure to research and advanced practical techniques. You’ll study master's-level units and carry out a major research project, giving you ideal preparation for postgraduate study or a career in research.

Prepare for your future

You’ll graduate with the knowledge and skills for work in a variety of areas, such as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, environment and education. You could also go on to further study, such as a master’s or PhD. Studying a biosciences degree requires you to apply a broad skill set to the understanding of complex processes. This skill set is also useful in a range of other careers, such as business, management, marketing and science teaching.

为来自中国的学生设计 AAA or A*AB in three A levels including A in one of: Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology or Statistics.If you are taking a GCE A level in a science subject, you will need to pass any separate science practical endorsement.Alternate offer: AAB in three A levels including A in one of: Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology or Statistics plus one of:grade A in an EPQ,grade B in the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Challenge Certificate,grade B in a Core Mathematics qualification,grade B in AS level Mathematics or Statistics.If you receive an offer for this course and are studying one of these qualifications you will be given both the typical and alternative offer.
