As businesses increasingly cross borders, the practice of law must equally develop and change. If you intend to pursue and develop a career in business law, it is vital to understand the complexities of transnational business interactions. The International Business Law LLM will prepare you for a career in global business.

• Gain knowledge of regulation in different jurisdictions, a clear view of issues of competition law and a strong grasp of conflict resolution
• Choose from a wide range of modules to tailor your LLM to your planned career path
• Your fellow students will come from the UK and more than 80 other countries, each able to draw on prior academic and professional experience from different jurisdictions
• Take part in networking and social events run by the Queen Mary Postgraduate Law Society

For the academic year 2020/21, you can start this LLM either in September 2020 or January 2021. An accelerated LLM is also available for January 2021 entry. Part-time is only available for September entry.

• Free access to online databases and collections including: LexisNexis, Westlaw, Justis, Eur-lex, Hein-Online and many more
• The Postgraduate School of Law Centre in Lincoln's Inn Fields and the Graduate Centre at Mile End

• Access to the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) and the Library at Senate House

Career paths

This programme will enhance your career options by allowing you to specialise in the highly sought after interdisciplinary areas of law, economics and finance. There is a very high rate of employment of our students within six months of graduation. We have dedicated law careers advisers who organise events and internship opportunities with top UK and international law firms.

Graduates of the LLM have gone on to become:

• A practicing lawyer working within the Rwandan Ministry of Justice
• A lawyer at Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam (Litigation department)
• A practitioner of international trade at the Ministry of Economy of Turkey
