专业概况

在这里学什么？

Our Clinical Psychology MRes is well-established and highly recognised by employers and trainers. Teaching is administered by renowned members of the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Team, having excellent links between academic colleagues in the wider School and in the NHS.

The programme provides you with understanding and experience of the research methods and techniques appropriate for applied settings.

There is a taught component with a focus on the specialist skills and methods required to conduct and evaluate psychological research in clinical settings. There are also two research placements and a final research project which are all supervised by staff affiliated to the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme or working in clinical areas.

Successful students should graduate with skills and experience to strengthen their applications for PhD research, DClinPsy training, clinical research and/or Assistant Psychologist posts.

Skills gained

The programme aims to provide you with understanding and experience of research methods and techniques appropriate for clinical and applied settings. You will gain skills in planning and conducting research and disseminating research outcomes. These will include:

• Generating research questions
• Designing projects which will answer those questions
• Liaising with service users and professionals
• Acting ethically, sensitively and professionally
• Information handling
• Data analysis
• Critical evaluation

You will also gain transferable skills in teamwork and effective written and spoken communication, to facilitate entry into further research and/or clinical training in related disciplines.

Employability

This programme will equip you with research skills that will be helpful when working towards a career in clinical or other applied psychology fields, or in clinical research.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students with a bachelor degree (4 years minimum) may be considered for entry to a postgraduate degree programme. Degree completed from selected universities are only considered and the score requirement will vary depending on the university they studied in.
