专业概况

This is one of our Level 3 Access to HE Diploma Pathways. The subject set includes: English, History, Law and Study Skills, which you will need to study to complete the Access Diploma. The Access to HE Diploma is validated by Ascentis. All students must commit to a full programme of study over one year. The Access to HE - Humanities (Law) pathway comprises the following subjects:

English and Literature

Introduction to English Language and Literature A Thematic Approach to Poetry Academic Skills in English Language and Literature

History

Introduction to British History (1900-1918) British History (1918-1951) Twentieth Century Totalitarian Regimes - Communism

Law

Introduction to Law Making The English Legal System Criminal Law

Study Skills

CVs, mock interviews, UCAS and personal statements Time management and organization skills Presentation skills and reflecting on own performance.

You will learn through a combination of lectures, practicals, seminars and tutorials and private study. Extra help outside of class time may be available in Study Clinics by appointment. You are also actively encouraged to make use of the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) site where you can find materials to supplement your class learning. The subject modules are assessed through a mixture of written assignments, portfolios, end of unit tests and exams. The Access to HE diploma will enable you to progress onto several different degrees and diplomas in Higher Education. Progression is dependent on succeeding in a combination of subjects, which are acceptable to university admissions tutors.
