专业概况
在这里学什么?Graduate study in Recreation Administration prepares students for advanced careers in the field of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Through a combination of online and traditional classroom instruction, students explore the theoretical foundations of the field while developing the administrative and management skills needed to become managers of private, commercial, and public recreation agencies. Students may also focus on research design and methodology in preparation for a research-based position and/or doctoral studies.
GRADUATE LEARNING OUTCOMES & GOALS
The first goal of the graduate program in Recreation and Leisure Studies is to academically prepare recreation professionals to:
Contribute to the development of a philosophy of leisure addressing the increasingly diverse emerging patterns of American life. Competently manage leisure service organizations providing services to diverse populations.
The second goal of the program is to incorporate theoretical and applied research into professional practice
Conduct basic research examining the leisure phenomenon and field research that supports the current and future efficient operation of leisure service organizations. To increase the efficient and effective operation of leisure services through theoretical and applied research that contributes to the knowledge of the discipline.
