If you’re looking to design your degree to suit your personal and professional career aspirations and an opportunity to acquire specialist practical skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship and analytics, our MSc Entrepreneurship and Analytics is for you.

Course outline and modules

The MSc Entrepreneurship and Analytics will develop your knowledge of theories, principles and practice of management. It will teach you how to apply this understanding to entrepreneurial business models and processes in both national and international contexts.

This course aims to provide a programme of study that meets your needs if you are a local, national or international student, enabling you to learn by the exchange of experience as well as formal academic study. It is designed for recent graduates and those already in employment.

This course is part of a suite of MSc programmes offering you the opportunity to design you degree to suit your personal and professional career aspirations.

How will my skills develop?

The course will help you enhance the skills required for assessing, developing and critically evaluating entrepreneurial strategies. You will develop the ability to make strategic decisions by advancing your understanding and application of how business analytics methods can support interventions in the decision-making process of organisations.

You’ll learn about intellectual property, emerging economies, international entrepreneurship and understand how to develop and deliver entrepreneurial strategies in a range of settings.

You’ll also develop the skills to use statistical techniques to communicate key information, how to use decision models, data mining, web and performance analytics, all of which will build on your analytical skills and ability to problem solve. You’ll get hands-on experience using specialist software and experience in using a range of data sets.

How will this course help my career?

As well as academic study, you will also be learning through experience – whether that’s in the lab using specialist software packages and interpreting data to inform a strategic business decision, or applying entrepreneurial strategy to a real-world business challenge.

The course concludes with a Business Project or Dissertation, giving you the opportunity to analyse a business problem and practically apply the knowledge and skills developed during the course to outline your recommendations. This will also help to show prospective employers how you are able to impact their business.

This course offers an opportunity to study a second degree at one of our international partner institutions once you have completed your year at Aston.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students should have a Bachelors degree from an Chinese university but the specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course they are applying for at Aston and the Chinese university which they have graduated from. In general applicants should be scoring in the range of 75-85% average as a minimum. If they are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, they must have studied a similar field in their undergraduate degree. There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background. They can apply for the MBA programme with an undergraduate degree, in any subject area, from an overseas institution and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience. They should have at least an undergraduate degree from a recognised Chinese university with at least 75-85% average as a minimum.
