Explore the concepts, principles and theories relating to leadership within organisations and develop specialist knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship in a range of settings on our MSc Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

Course outline and modules

The MSc Leadership and Entrepreneurship will develop your knowledge of the concepts, principles and theories relating to leadership within organisations. It will teach you how to apply the strategic role that leadership can make within wider organisational context.

You’ll learn about organisational behaviour, what motivates people and how they work together, how to develop and deliver strategy and change as well as develop businesses within a range of contexts.

You’ll also develop your entrepreneurial skills in relation to business development, identifying opportunities, and international business and emerging economies. This means, you’ll establish a strong entrepreneurial mindset whilst developing your practical skills whilst you study.

This course aims to provide a programme of study that meets your needs if you are a local, national or international student, enabling you to learn by the exchange of experience as well as formal academic study. It is designed for recent graduates and those already in employment.

How will my skills develop?

This course will enhance your employability prospects, including IT and computing skills, presentation and collaborative team working skills. It offers you the ability to assimilate into multicultural and cross-cultural working teams, self-confidence, reflective practice, problem solving, leadership and decision-making skills.

This course will also help you enhance the skills required for assessing, developing and critically evaluating entrepreneurial strategies. You’ll develop knowledge of theories, principles and underlying concepts of management and apply this understanding to entrepreneurial business models and processes in national and international contexts.

Career prospects

This course will prepare you to start you own business, work in a strategic way for any organisation needing an entrepreneurial outlook, that requires critical thinking and decision-making informed by strategic thinking.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students should have a Bachelors degree from an Chinese university but the specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course they are applying for at Aston and the Chinese university which they have graduated from. In general applicants should be scoring in the range of 75-85% average as a minimum. If they are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, they must have studied a similar field in their undergraduate degree. There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background. They can apply for the MBA programme with an undergraduate degree, in any subject area, from an overseas institution and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience. They should have at least an undergraduate degree from a recognised Chinese university with at least 75-85% average as a minimum.
