专业概况

在这里学什么？

This internationally renowned programme is open to doctors and physiotherapists. As the longest-established Sports and Exercise Medicine MSc in the country, we have a prestigious history. The Centre is ideally situated on the same campus as the sports injury, physiotherapy, podiatry and the interdisciplinary combined sports clinics.

This programme will:

• Offer you mastery of foundation concepts and skills in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
• Give you the knowledge and skills to assess sports injuries and to understand their treatment options, as well as understanding the physiological and psychological benefits of exercise and its use as a health tool.
• Allow you regular clinical contact with athletes and sportspeople.
• Introduce you to visiting lecturers, who are experts in the field of Sports Medicine.

Facilities

• Access to the Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) and its state-of-the-art physiological testing and motion analysis equipment
• Queen Mary’s comprehensive libraries, including our Postgraduate Reading Room
• Our new Graduate Centre: purpose-built study spaces and a roof-top common room with a terrace
• Access to many journals about sport and exercise medicine

Career paths

Successful alumni have gone on to further study at PhD level, to work in specialised roles in sports medicine and to hold pivotal positions in the field across the UK and internationally. Graduates include the Chief Medical Officers for Team Great Britain at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, and the Greek team at Athens 2004.
