A diverse and challenging field of study, mathematics is perhaps best characterized as the “science of patterns.” Almost every scientific pursuit, from biology to engineering to economics, relies heavily (and increasingly) on the use of higher-level mathematics and statistics. As a mathematics major at Le Moyne, you will have five concentrations to choose from - Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Education (Childhood or Adolescent), Pure Mathematics, and Statistics. You will be exposed to a breadth of mathematical topics uncommon for a liberal arts school, by faculty members representing a wide array of specialties.
