专业概况

Nurse Practitioners have become the primary care providers for millions of Americans and are poised to meet the challenge of providing comprehensive, high quality, and cost effective care to many more millions of people in the changing healthcare market. Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) are uniquely skilled primary care providers who work collaboratively to meet the healthcare needs of diverse individuals and families across the lifespan, in a variety of practice settings. Graduates of Le Moyne’s FNP program are trained as competent and compassionate clinicians who will provide excellent community-based primary care to diverse, under-served, and vulnerable populations.

The Le Moyne FNP program offers a full- and part-time program of study for bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurses (RNs) licensed in New York State. The FNP program is a total of 45 credits, which includes 36 credits didactic coursework and 9 credits of clinical coursework (totaling 810 hours). Graduates of the program receive a Master of Science in Nursing, FNP certification, and are eligible to sit for National Certification. A part-time, post-master’s FNP certificate is also available to eligible candidates who will receive an individualized program of study.
