专业概况
在这里学什么?The University of Dayton Dietetics program takes a holistic approach to the academic and professional development of the student as a whole person. As a student in the undergraduate dietetics program, you'll examine the science of food and the role of nutrients in the body to promote health, prevent chronic disease and improve human performance. You'll have the opportunity to develop professionally as you practice applying the knowledge you've gained within the many nutrition-related programs we provide to the University of Dayton campus and local communities.
Mission
Prepare competent and compassionate students for supervised practice leading to eligibility for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing exam to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN).
Program goals & objectives
Goal #1: Prepare distinctive students to be competent entry-dietetic professionals
Program completion
At least 80% of program students enrolled in the full-time traditional DPD undergraduate track will complete program or degree requirements within three years (150% of program length)
At least 80% of program students enrolled part-time in the traditional DPD undergraduate track will complete the program within in three years (150% of program length)
At least 80% of the students enrolled full-time in the BPM track will complete the program or degree requirements in 1.5 years (150% of program length)
At least 80% of the students enrolled part-time in the BPM will complete the program or degree requirements in 2 years (150% of program length)
Graduate application and acceptance in supervised practice
90% of program graduates apply for admission to a supervised practice program prior to or within 12-months of graduation
85% of program graduates are admitted to a supervised practice within 12-months of graduation.
Graduate performance on registration exam
The program's one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
Program-specific goals
80% of DI directors will indicate strongly agree/agree on evaluations that students were well prepared for internship
85% of alumni returned surveys will identify they strongly agree/agree on a post internship survey that they were prepared to successful complete internship.
Goal #2: Engage in interprofessional education and community activities to develop collaborative and compassionate dietetic professionals
85% of students will participate in a combination of 3 of the following activities (IPE, mentoring, service learning) within the dietetics curriculum
85% of returned surveys from DI Directors will answer “strongly agree/agree” to the compassion indicators in UD alum
85% of returned surveys from DI Directors will answer “strongly agree/agree” to the collaborative indicators in UD alum
