专业概况

In the Accelerated BSN Nursing Program, you will learn how to provide care for people in different phases of the lifespan and in a variety of health care settings. Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity for collaborative practice and experiential learning in our state-of-the-art simulation center. Graduates of Accelerated BSN Program will be prepared to become health care leaders in a global society.

The Bachelor of Science in nursing for students who already have a bachelor’s degree provides preparation for registered nursing practice. The curriculum is composed of both didactic and clinical components. The curriculum blends scientific and humanistic theories with nursing theories to provide graduates with a foundation for professional nursing practice. Faculty members hold a doctoral or master’s degree, and many are certified within their individual areas of specialty. Many members of the faculty continue to practice in healthcare settings and participate in research and other scholarly endeavors.

The A.B.S.N. program is designed for post baccalaureate individuals who want to make a career change. The accelerated program is fast-paced and rigorous, incorporating three years of nursing courses into 16 months. The accelerated program is designed for nonworking, full-time students who can immerse themselves in the content.

Career Paths

The BSN degree allows for graduates to practice in a profession that integrates the art and science of caring. Once you successfully complete the 16-month ABSN program you will be eligible to sit for the state board licensing exam to become a registered nurse. Registered nurses with a BSN degree are able to work in a variety of practice areas such as:

• Acute care settings
• Intensive Care Units
• Specialty areas including pediatrics, maternity, and mental health nursing
• Community health settings including schools, clinics, and health departments
• Care management

English language requirement: TOEFL (iBT): Composite score of at least 79, with a minimum of 14 in reading, TOEFL (PBT): Composite score of at least 550, with a minimum of 48 in reading, IELTS: Composite score of at least 6.5, with a minimum of a 5.5 in Reading and 5 in Writing, Pearson PTE: Composite score of at least 55.
