Equip yourself with the clinical experience, knowledge, and confidence you need to become an advanced practice registered nurse with the Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner online program from Northern Kentucky University. This fully online program prepares you to provide a full range of primary healthcare services, make referrals, and serve as an educator, counselor, and advocate for patients of all ages.

The program's 47 credit hours of coursework emphasizes advanced healthcare standards, theory, and evidence-based practice that support delivering primary care across the life span. MSN core curriculum includes interactive courses focused on all aspects of primary care for adolescents and adults, diagnostic reasoning and advanced physical assessment, human pathophysiology, and advanced clinical pharmacology for APRNs. The MSN – FNP concentration courses cover pediatrics and adults, clinical residency, and a capstone to synthesize your learning.

Our CCNE-accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program can be completed in as few as 22 months. Once you graduate, you will be eligible to take the FNP certification examination.

In this program, you will:

• Prepare for your nurse practitioner certification exam and expanded practice opportunities to diagnose and treat patients of all ages
• Critically analyze data for practice by integrating knowledge from arts and sciences within the context of nursing’s philosophical framework and scientific foundation
• Use evidence-based practice to demonstrate advanced levels of clinical judgment, systems thinking, and accountability while implementing change to improve healthcare outcomes
• Integrate nursing science, educational frameworks, health policy, professional values and principles of business to implement initiatives that facilitate the highest level of advanced nursing practice
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultures and populations including patients and providers
• Analyze one’s own behaviors and institutional practices and policies for coherence with principles of caring
• Demonstrate effective communication in order to facilitate nursing practice at an advanced level

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited institution with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. English language requirement: TOEFL scores must meet a minimum standard score of 550 on the paper version, 213 of the computer-based version, or 79 on the internet based (iBT) version. Applicants submitting the IELTS must achieve a 6.5 on the general band portion.
