专业概况

在这里学什么？

With a combined degree in Childhood Education and Literacy, students will be prepared to coach classroom teachers and instruct children in achieving state and national standards in reading and writing.

Today’s literacy specialists teach children who are English language learners and those who have disabilities interfering with their learning. Literacy specialists bring special knowledge and skills in teaching reading, writing, critical thinking, using children’s literature, and integrating the new digital literacies into classroom instruction.

The combined Childhood Education and Literacy program is fully-accredited and rigorously prepares teachers for literacy education positions in elementary schools. With courses in literature and digital storytelling, writing, and animation, teachers will develop rich knowledge and skills for modeling and delivering multimodal approaches to students and teachers.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a diplomas and leaving examination scores from secondary and post-secondary schools (in English). In general, a minimum TOEFL score of 80, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or a Pearson PTE academic score of 54 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into Pace University programs.
