专业概况

The goal of the Bachelor of Science program in Communication Sciences and Disorders is to prepare students for entrance to graduate school in speech-language pathology or audiology. A capstone clinic experience/project completed during the senior year of undergraduate work will encourage students to explore the broad scope of practice available to certified SLPs and audiologists, allowing students to better tailor a graduate program to suit their specific areas of interest.

The undergraduate curriculum is offered on a full-time basis through the day program, and requires 128 credit hours to graduate. The program is built on a strong liberal arts and sciences core.

Maryville University requires that students provide proof of English proficiency for study at the University. The following are acceptable means of providing proof of English proficiency: TOEFL: 69 overall with no sub score lower than 15, or IELTS: 6.0 with no sub score lower than 5, or DET: 40, or PTE ACADEMIC: 47, or ELS Center: Level 112 completed with a 2.5 grade or better, or U.S. University/College Study: English Composition 104 equivalent with a “C” grade or better. English for non-native speakers does not qualify, or A Level: 1 “A” grade or better in English or 3 “B” grades or better in subjects other than Math
