CYBER SECURITY

As the world becomes increasingly more reliant on interconnected and internet-based technologies, the need for cyber security is becoming of critical importance in every aspect of our lives.

Cutting-Edge

Our cyber security program is designed to transform curious students into confident, tech-savvy professionals who work at the forefront of cyber security. Intended for both newcomers and experienced professionals, Maryville’s undergraduate and graduate programs provide a strong knowledge base as well as technical expertise and hands-on experience. Our graduates work in careers across a variety of industries to secure, defend, analyze and investigate systems and networks.

Cyber Fusion Center

The Maryville University Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) is an innovative student- run and faculty-managed security operations center designed to provide a wide range of cost-free cyber security services to non-profit organizations, charities, schools and small businesses. The CFC monitors various data feeds, and then integrates these analytics into actionable intelligence for clients. Students obtain academic credit for their work in the CFC.

Cyber security spending is expected to balloon to $170 billion worldwide by 2020, according to Markets and Markets. Businesses, governments, health care organizations, and financial institutions are all dedicating more resources to keeping their data safe. Still, there’s a shortage of 209,000 cyber security professionals in the U.S., according to Peninsula Press.

Maryville University requires that students provide proof of English proficiency for study at the University. The following are acceptable means of providing proof of English proficiency: TOEFL: 69 overall with no sub score lower than 15, or IELTS: 6.0 with no sub score lower than 5, or DET: 40, or PTE ACADEMIC: 47, or ELS Center: Level 112 completed with a 2.5 grade or better, or U.S. University/College Study: English Composition 104 equivalent with a “C” grade or better. English for non-native speakers does not qualify, or A Level: 1 “A” grade or better in English or 3 “B” grades or better in subjects other than Math
