专业概况

Maryville University’s highly acclaimed Educational Leadership and Principal Certification program develops leaders with vision, strength of conviction and a firm grounding in the belief that all students can learn and grow. The program is for certified teachers seeking a career as an administrator and prepares you for a broad range of careers in school settings.

Project-Based Learning

Maryville’s national accreditation and regional reputation for excellence in leadership preparation makes our graduates highly sought after administrators. You’ll work with expert faculty and outstanding professionals in the field with many opportunities for professional growth. The program provides a strong foundation of theory, practical application, and a developed personal philosophy about leadership.

The program is organized around a cohort or student group plan where 12 to 20 students advance through their classes together. The cohort builds camaraderie, provides you with additional resources and helps you recognize your own strength. This flexible 33-credit program is tailored to the working professional and takes two years to complete by meeting just one night a week.

Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requires a field-based internship for educational leadership programs. These will occur during a summer semester and with planned experiences throughout the school year. Maryville works closely with numerous school districts in the region that provide internship opportunities for our students.

Office Of Career And Professional Development

We are here to help graduate students navigate their way through the process of seeking meaningful and valuable career experiences, including internships, service opportunities, and part-time and full-time positions. Our team helps you develop a resume and cover letters, conduct mock interviews and contemplate your future career choices. We also offer ongoing professional development workshops and events.

The Office of Career and Professional Development team works closely with faculty to identify specific strategies for employment in your targeted industry. Expect a personalized experience as we support you in finding your niche in your chosen field.
