If you love teaching and nurturing young children, then you should consider an Elementary and Early Childhood Education degree. At Maryville University, this dual-certification program prepares students to teach elementary grades 1 – 6 as well as early childhood years, birth – grade 3. The bachelor’s in early childhood education will give teacher candidates the tools to help young children learn to read, write, compute, think and grow as citizens through a constructive approach with numerous planned field experiences and university coursework.

Maryville University requires that students provide proof of English proficiency for study at the University. The following are acceptable means of providing proof of English proficiency: TOEFL: 69 overall with no sub score lower than 15, or IELTS: 6.0 with no sub score lower than 5, or DET: 40, or PTE ACADEMIC: 47, or ELS Center: Level 112 completed with a 2.5 grade or better, or U.S. University/College Study: English Composition 104 equivalent with a “C” grade or better. English for non-native speakers does not qualify, or A Level: 1 “A” grade or better in English or 3 “B” grades or better in subjects other than Math
