Literacy matters in every subject and content area. With the adoption of the Common Core State Standards, adolescent literacy education is more important than ever before. Literacy specialists affect what and how adolescents learn, and they coach subject area teachers, as well as other specialist teachers, with strategies for teaching critical thinking, composing, study, and comprehension across the disciplines. Literacy specialists integrate the new digital literacies into their instruction, and they address the diverse learning needs of adolescents by providing individualized instruction and support.

Through the combined program in Adolescent Education and Literacy, you will earn certification in Adolescent Literacy Education and become an indispensible educator for students and resource for teachers in your school and district.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a diplomas and leaving examination scores from secondary and post-secondary schools (in English). In general, a minimum TOEFL score of 80, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or a Pearson PTE academic score of 54 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into Pace University programs.
